Having been a badminton enthusiast for many years now and having getting tired of renting Shuttlecocks from my local sports center to play around 8 months ago, i brought 3 tubes of these from Amazon, and i have to say there is a massive difference between Feathered Shuttles and those with the plain plastic skirts!
These shuttles speed up the game drastically and ensure that you are always kept on your toes when you see one of these flying towards you. These are the only shuttles i have and ever will buy, as these retain quality for a good 2-3 fast paced, hard hitting games.
With feathered shuttlecocks you will see a massive difference in your badminton games and how you play. The power that you can get behind these are phenomenal and you really feel like you're packing a proper punch when knocking these back over the net.
Each tube comes with a dozen (12) shuttles each, which i think is a great amount as i play once a week and most of the time one tube can last up to 2 months each. Many other feathered shuttles may be cheap and seem like a better option, but i'm telling you they're not! many cheap feathered shuttlecocks break and are not sturdy enough to ensure that the skirt stays intact and you'll see feathers flying everywhere while you're playing. Your play will be interrupted continuously with the distraction of you thinking you've just hit a bird out the sky, and the shuttlecocks not flying properly due to three or four missing feathers. With these Carlton GT4 shuttles you'll rarely see this any when you do, all you have to do is switch it out for another in the tube which will last a good 2-3 matches once more.
The price for these shuttlecocks may seem expensive compared to other types however this is because they are either not feathered or of a low quality. For a tube of 12 Goose Feathered Shuttlecocks on Amazon is currently ?13.99 which is excellent value and works out to ?1.17 per shuttlecock.
These are of a very good quality and are extremely sturdy that will ensure your badminton enjoyment for a long time. You'll never want to go back to plastic ones again (despite them lasting long) as these goose feather shuttles will improve your play style and improve your reaction time for a more enjoyable badminton experience. An affordable price price makes these excellent value for money!
Tip: Many people think that when the shuttle skirts on these go deformed they have to be thrown away. Wrong! simply pull the feathers back into shape (as long as they aren't broken) to keep playing with them for longer!:)
Summary: My favourite shuttlecocks by far. Hitting these will really pack a punch!
